On this course, you will gain an understanding of the theories behind how we think and behave.
BSc (Hons) Psychology will draw upon a wide range of psychology disciplines including; cognitive psychology, psychobiology, developmental and social psychology. As you progress you will have the opportunity to select modules reflecting your own interests, with a wide range of options to choose from including; counselling, crime and eating disorders.
As well as providing a wealth of knowledge, expected of any modern psychology course, our BSc (Hons) Psychology at Northumbria offers the opportunity to undertake a work-based placement following your second year, in areas such as mental health, brain injury and education.
In your final year of the course you can make an impact by conducting your own original piece of research allowing you to apply knowledge and understanding to new problems, graduating with not only a psychology degree but also valuable transferrable and critical thinking skills.
Northumbria University is located right in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne –one of the UK’s best student cities. It is half an hour away from stunning blue flag beaches, historic castles and rambling countryside. Getting to them is really easy; the North East is connected by Tyne and Wear’s Metro and a great bus network.
