Accounting Stage 1: Students spend half of their time studying accounting and finance subjects: foundations of accounting, information technology and business finance. Stages 2 and 3: Half the modules are taken from the discipline of accounting and finance; students choose some modules in the core areas of financial reporting, management accounting, or finance, as well as having the scope for some optional modules in other areas of accounting or finance. Mathematics Stage 1: The study of mathematical methods and areas of mathematical modelling and differential equations, number systems and the foundations of calculus, as well as an introduction to probability and statistics. Stage 2: modules may include mathematical methods and modelling, fields, polynomials and vector spaces, and the foundations of probability and statistics. Stage 3: a wide choice of modules is available including ones that link mathematics with the other joint Honours subjects, such as financial modelling and programming and numerical methods.
