Coaching studies Year 1: Modules may include: coaching practice and delivery practical; coaching environment; option: historical and sociological context. Year 2: modules may include: coaching pedagogy; coaching for performance; option: research skills; option: scientific applications in coaching. Year 3: modules may include: managing high performance teams and athletes; performance analysis; option: research project double unit; option: planning for performance; option: practical experience. Sport Year 1: Years 1 and 2 provide a multi-disciplinary base; modules in year 1 may include: anatomy and physiology; sociology and psychology of sport 1; games concepts. Year 2: modules may include: biomechanics and physiology; sociology and psychology of sport 2; individual activities. Year 3: modules are designed to apply the knowledge and understanding gained at levels 1 and 2 to a variety of sport situations; current issues in sport are researched and discussed; the student may also have the opportunity to carry out an in-depth study to develop their research skills; modules may include: sports analysis; issues in sport; performance analysis; research design; option unit in sport allowing the student to focus on coaching.
