Year 1 provides a foundation in business-related disciplines together with an introduction to specialised accounting units; all students are brought up to a common standard during the first year; there are therefore no specific subjects required for entry. Year 2 expands and develops the accounting and finance elements and deepens students’ appreciation of information technology and law in a business context. Year 3 is spent on a paid work placement in a finance related role. Year 4 introduces 2 option choices which allow students to maximise their professional accounting exemptions or study subjects offered elsewhere in the business school, which may be new to students; 4 core units develop the 2nd year accounting units and increase their understanding of current developments within the accounting profession.
