LU, MA, Comparative Literature and Literary Theory
Entry requirements
A bachelor’s degree from a university, equivalent to the level of a Dutch academic bachelor’s degree
Knowledge, understanding and skills comparable to those acquired upon graduating from the Bachelor’s programme in Film and Literary Studies from Leiden University with a specialisation in Literary Studies, specifically:
Elementary knowledge of the foundations of comparative literature and literary theory.
A broader theoretical and historical focus on the literary phenomenon as part of the cultural domain in general.
Analytical skills to produce adequate close readings of literary texts.
Skills in the use library information systems
Sufficient command of English (IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 100 (internet-based) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); for the ‘writing’ and ‘reading’ components a minimum score of IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL25 is required).
