Hull College, BA (Hons), Television and Film Design
Students are offered a wide range of opportunities to explore, examine and develop communication skills, processes and products in two main specialist but interrelated pathways: visual story telling: the art, craft and practice of narrative and experimental film-making; movie image design: the origination, design, production and post-production of a diverse range of ‘graphic’ products for the television and film industries, advertising business, commerce and education; through the progressive focus of each of the levels of study, ’experimentation’, ’orientation’ , ’consolidation’, students will develop a dynamic mix of skills and knowledge by exploring key creative elements, for example: concepts and ideas; narrative construction; directing production; screenwriting; cinematography; sound design and production; editing and post-production; digital manipulation and effects; visualisations and storyboarding; design forms and functions; branding and identity; typography; presentation; production design; art direction; project management key features; interactive collaboration between students across all three levels of the course; self-initiated project work; student-centred experiential learning and responsive teaching; multi and inter-disciplinary activities.
