The aim of the African Studies/African Linguistics programme is to teach and develop expert knowledge in the area of African studies as well as knowledge of related themes. The programme’s focus is, on the one hand, on training young academics for linguistic research carried out in Africa, and on the other hand, on African linguistics with an interdisciplinary approach including social as well as communication and literary content.
Goethe University has campuses in Bockenheim, Westend, Riedberg, and Niederrad. While very different and distinct in character, all campuses are conveniently located and well serviced by public transportation. The Goethe Cardgives students free use of public transportation.
