Glasgow Metropolitan College, HNC, Architectural Conservation
Year 1: Introductory practical skills in stonemasonry; joinery; painting; plasterwork; sheet roof finishes & external finishes; history of architecture; principles of architectural conservation; principles of building decay; fire safety in historic buildings. Year Two expands on the practical craft skills covered in first year and also includes: Conservation technology; contract procurement and documentation; statutory framework; computer aided design (course materials are provided).
