Acting at Falmouth offers students acting and performance training that connects with and extends the Theatre programme. The course has a distinctive ethos and approach - our primary focus is training in, and education through, acting for the creative and progressive actor and performance-maker.
Acting shares a common grounding and language with the fundamentals of theatre in performing, making, thinking, contextualising, reflecting and producing. It offers students an intensive practical focus, informed by theories of performance and dramaturgy, and an engagement with the shifting contexts and audiences of contemporary theatre.
The Theatre programme provides visiting artists' workshops and residencies. We also run exchange opportunities with Erasmus (EU) and Study Abroad (USA) partner institutions and companies. You'll be offered opportunities for internships and work with local and regional arts organisations and companies including Wildworks, Kneehigh Theatre and Hall for Cornwall.
Falmouth Campus is a ten-minute walk from Falmouth Town station, five minutes by train from Penryn and 20 minutes by train from Truro (every half hour Monday - Friday.) There are eight buses an hour to Penryn at peak times. Buses depart regularly from Falmouth town centre, the train takes five minutes from Falmouth and it’s 15 minutes by train from Truro to Penryn station, which is a 20-minute walk from the campus.
