The course is based around the components of the Cognitive Therapy Scale and clinical supervision sessions; the knowledge gained will allow students to: Develop a conceptual understanding of CBT and its application to clinical practice; acquire specific knowledge in CBT to assess, formulate, treat and evaluate a variety of psychological pathologies from evidence based practice; critically appraise the evidence base that supports the use of cognitive behavioural methods for a range of psychological/psychiatric disorders; appraise the legal, moral and ethical obstacles associated with practice of CBT and the paradigm of therapeutic alliance.
