This course is designed for people with an interest in the technical application of different media; it emphasises the practical use of media technology; students develop the ability to produce creative forms of media content using new media technologies; over 60 per cent of the course is practical; the course covers 4 main areas of study: digital media technology; multimedia and internet applications and systems; digital video editing with digital imaging and audio production; and technology and digital media contextual studies; students also develop skills in critical thinking and writing about the way that digital media is understood and used; they examine both how and why different types of digital media are taken up by audiences and producers alike.
