The students will examine all aspects of logistics, covering the whole spectrum of the ‘supply chain’. Students will achieve this through studying human resource management, financial management, systems analysis and information technology. Logistics is sometimes referred to as ‘the time-related positioning of resources’ since it is involved in each stage of a product’s or service’s life.

Year 3
You will spend this year in professional placement or you may choose to take up an international study opportunity at one of our partner institutions. You can choose to benefit from a paid twelve month professional placement. This Optional Sandwich Year, in relevant employment, will be arranged with the help of our placement tutor. We have excellent links with the logistics industry and can offer a wide range of opportunities spanning all aspects of the sector. The placement year can be taken in the UK or abroad and some placement allowances are available. In most cases placement students are offered graduate employment.
Our current and recent placement employers include: Toyota, TNT, Renault, Peugeot, Eddie Stobbart, Corus, DHL, TDG.
Year 4
The Aston University campus is located on a green 60 acre, self contained site in the centre of Birmingham, within 5-10 minutes walk of the main shopping, business and entertainment areas of the city. And it is within a 20-minute journey by rail to Birmingham International Airport that has direct flights to Europe.
