The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is a public research university located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, State of Minnesota. Founded in the belief that all people are enriched by understanding, Minnesota is dedicated to the advancement of learning and the search for truth; to the sharing of this knowledge through education for a diverse community; and to the application of this knowledge to benefit the people of the state, the nation, and the world.


The second-largest institution of higher education in the Midwest by enrollment, the University offers more than 140 undergraduate degree programs and 200 graduate degree programs. 


The U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings placed the undergraduate program of the University as the 69th-best in the United States.


Notable University of Minnesota alumni include eight Nobel Prize laureates, two Pulitzer Prize winners, and two Vice Presidents of the United States. Faculty of the University have included twelve Nobel Prize laureates.

Location

Minnesota State is often called - Land of ten thousand lakes. Due to its nature's generosity, it is recognized the most livable American State.


Despite the fact that the capital of Minnesota is St. Paul, the largest and most famous culturally in the state still is Minneapolis. There are located the Institute of Art, where you can always see the interesting exhibition, Walker Art Center, which holds works by Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, Frederick Weisman Art Museum. However, Minneapolis and St. Paul called the "twin cities", they even arranged opposite each other on opposite banks of the Mississippi. But Minneapolis is more modern: here you can find wide busy streets and soaring skyscrapers.
