Overall the programme develops an extensive intellectual knowledge and clinical skills base for the generic practice of advanced health care provision; it enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills to identify and implement effective solutions to complex decision making issues within the context of health care provision; it equips students with both skills of advanced communication across all levels of a health care organisation and complementing competencies in health informatics imperative to a dynamic and high quality workforce; students develop extended professional competence in working with diverse patient case loads in primary and secondary health care settings which themselves demonstrate ethnically sensitive patterns of health care provision; a key aim of the programme is to develop the research literacy of students including training in research techniques, promoting an evidence based approach to health care delivery.
