The course is taught in 1-day weekly sessions (usuallyWednesdays) in semester time, with additional work completedover vacation periods; disciplines include: social work; social policy; medicine; nursing; housing; and the social and behavioural sciences; this approach encourages cross-disciplinary skills in information-gathering and analysis, the understanding of arguments and the communication of ideas and information; breadth of coverage across different disciplines, depth of knowledge in particular aspects of community care, application of a range of skills and the synthesis of information are all central to an original approach to problem-solving.
