The 1st 2 years cover the biological basis and principles of horticulture including amenity horticulture, backed up by modules in enterprise, marketing and product development; there is an optional sandwich year after year 2; final year includes a range of options and project work leading to a dissertation; teaching throughout is via a combination of lectures, small group seminars and practical work in the University’s extensive glasshouse unit, experimental grounds and gardens; in all years, students can select approved additional modules from other, relevant subject areas either within the School of Biological Sciences or from elsewhere in the University, for instance, the Schools of Chemistry, Agriculture Policy and Development, and Human and Environmental Sciences.
