Students are encouraged to present their work at international conferences as well as at the department’s extensive programme of workshops and seminars and funding is available to support this; recent topics of study include: growth dynamics (an empirical investigation of output growth using international data); speculation and inefficiency on financial markets (simulation and empirical analysis); macroeconomic performance and monetary policy (an econometric analysis of business survey data in the European community); an econometric analysis of economic reform in Turkey; portfolio allocation problems and quantity constraints (an analysis of the Warsaw Stock Exchange); finance, growth and volatility.
