The course is an accelerated pre-registration course designed to allow existing graduates the opportunity to enter the profession of physiotherapy; the 1st year is spent within UEA (with the exception of a three-week clinical placement); a large part of year 2 (32 weeks) is spent on a clinical 'rotation'; students join a placement provider, usually centred at an acute hospital site and spends periods of time in each of the core areas of physiotherapy: orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular and respiratory rehabilitation; the rotation is across a variety of settings (wards, out-patients, domiciliary, community etc) and extends into non-core areas (women's health, mental health, paediatrics etc); the course is constructed around 6 themes which form the basis of the modular structure: human sciences, continuing professional development, clinical practice, contexts for health care, research, professional theory and practice.
