One of the longest-established and most prestigious degrees of its kind in the country, our BA Film and Television Studies degree provides an opportunity to explore in depth these two hugely influential art-forms and mass media. 

A first year covering all the essentials in the subject is followed by second and third years in which in which there's lots of choice, enabling you to specialise in the areas that interest you the most. 

Select from modules covering a global range of cinema and television, from the earliest experiments in moving pictures to modern multimedia franchises.

You can also choose creative practice options in areas such as making short films and TV studio production, deepening your knowledge of how film and television texts are produced.

Students develop many transferable skills on this degree, including high-level research and communication skills, team working, leadership, and self-management, all of which open up a wide variety of careers.
