This course provides an introduction to current and emerging internet and mobile technologies and services, and their uses by children and young children in communication, information-sharing and social networking; the course outlines the risks associated with information and communication technology use, and appropriate educational, technical and regulatory risk reduction strategies; the course also considers media literacy and human rights; the course aims to develop knowledge about effective ways in which to encourage safe and responsible use of information and communication technologies by children and young people, and to develop the skills to effectively communicate with them about these issues.
