This course is of particular interest to anyone currently working in public health or health protection, whether within the NHS or any other organisation; it offers students from a range of disciplines the opportunity to engage with new perspectives in public health and to meet the requirements for public health knowledge outlined in recent government initiatives; it has been developed to assist professionals in multidisciplinary, inter-agency and interprofessional working in ways which cross traditional organisation boundaries, thinking creatively and inclusively in order to achieve a healthier future for all; the programme emphasises the development and utilisation of transferable skills and the application of knowledge and theory to practice; it is based on a student centred perspective designed to deliver the opportunities to develop key and transferable skills which are utilised in public health work; it aims to raise awareness of the complexity and diversity involved in public health work and to enable individuals to combine knowledge, skills, abilities and insights into working towards improvements in health.
