The course provides the specialist knowledge to prepare students from any background for careers in the aeronautical industry; students study subjects such as aircraft design; aerodynamics; lightweight structures; advanced composite materials; safety; dynamics and control; instrumentation; and propulsion system design; design of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is also a particularly strong feature of the course; programme consists of 8 taught modules and a major aeronautical project (industry or research-based); students who initially enrol on the postgraduate Diploma may proceed to the Master's after completing the 8 modues.
