The aims of the course are: To enable participants to develop counselling skills that can be applied in their present or potential work settings; to provide opportunities to reflect on practice, and develop a conceptual understanding of the aims and process of counselling; to facilitate an informed awareness of the ways in which personal qualities and experience can be used in a counselling role; the course consists of a total of 4 modules taught on a part-time basis, including weekly classes and 4 Saturday workshops (total attendance 130 hours); the course meets on Wednesdays (choice of morning or evening attendance); classroom sessions are augmented by an internet learning package.
