Course seeks to address the needs of support assistants who wish to develop their professional insights and competencies; it sets out to enhance the ability of students to become more self-reflective and more able to develop their own practice; the programme will serve the professional development needs of the students by: enhancing their current professional practice by requiring them to reflect on a range of inclusive strategies; providing them with relevant knowledge regarding individual needs; providing them with a range of underpinning knowledge relating to the practice environment including awareness of national and local issues; providing students with the opportunities to demonstrate a reflective approach to their practice, in particular to link theory to practice and to become independent and motivated learners; provide a basis for further career development.
