After a common foundation year exploring scripture, ecclesiology, Church law and pastoral theology, students are able to choose 3 specialist pathways to develop their expertise: Pastoral leadership pathway: through study of pastoral leadership, preaching and catechetics (although options are possible from other pathways) this programme aims to develop the skills of candidates involved in a wide range of church ministries, church renewal and ministerial training programmes; Christian spirituality pathway: through study of Christian spirituality, monasticism and spiritual direction (although options are possible from other pathways) this programme aims to develop the skills of candidates involved in a wide range of ministries and wanting to deepen their own spirituality through reflection and study; chaplaincy studies pathway: through study of chaplaincy, contemporary theological issues and liturgy (although options are possible from other pathways) this programme aims to develop the reflective skills necessary for sustained and fruitful engagement in chaplaincy work.
