The new European Literature and Cultural Studies (ELCS) programme is designed to meet the needs of students with an interest in European Culture who wish to study it through the medium of English; No knowledge of European languages is necessary for the single honours programme, but students who have French, German, Italian or Spanish may wish to combine ELCS with one of these languages as a joint honours degree; joint honours students will be able to spend their third year abroad.
