MGA students complete rigorous course work that compels high standards of scholarship and offers practical training for careers in government, the private sector and international organizations thus producing graduates with a broad global perspective requisite of leaders for the next century. The Rice MGA offers students actionable learning in the form of applied research and internships, with access to the field’s leading policymakers. The program also equips graduates to be expert leaders in policy and practice on an international stage. MGA students will delve into one of three research areas, heavily rooted in economic theory and application, and produce capstone research projects that explore pivotal international policies of our time.

Location

Houston has two airports: William P. Hobby (HOU), 11 miles to the south of campus and George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), 24 miles to the north. Intercontinental is a hub of global travel. Hobby is a hub for regional, domestic travel. Together they offer 1,000 flights a day in and out of Houston.


Most major rental car companies have locations at both airports. SuperShuttle and taxis provide ground transportation services from both airports.


The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, (METRO) provides bus and rail service from destinations around Houston. There is a METRORail stop across the street from the main entrance of the Rice campus. The rail line travels up and down Main Street, serving downtown, the Texas Medical Center and Reliant Park.
