The luxury industry has evolved rapidly over the last decade, with brands expanding and consolidating into mature and fast-developing markets. Successful professionals in this field demonstrate the ability to operate in a highly competitive global context. An innovative and creative approach with a strong cultural perspective is also key.
The MA Luxury Brand Management takes a strategic view of the dynamic characteristics and opportunities within the global luxury goods and services industry. It combines academic study with the practicalities of management, with a focus on delivering an exceptional experience for consumers and gaining a global competitive advantage.
Studying in the heart of London, one of the world’s capitals for the luxury industry, you will develop the skills needed to manage leading brands in a highly competitive environment, combining knowledge with an innovative approach and a strong cultural perspective.
You will enjoy a high level of teaching contact and support from lecturers who offer a breadth of expertise and experience across a variety of luxury sectors. You will also benefit from lectures by guest speakers and visits to companies managing luxury brands. High profile speakers in 2016 have included Helen David, Harrods Fashion Director, Matthew Zorpas from The Gentleman Blogger and Valerie Kaminov, CEO of Miller Harris Perfumes.
You will develop the knowledge, insights and critical skills to make informed judgements about the strategic and tactical business activities of luxury brands. You will be able to apply the knowledge and skills you develop on the programme through a final project – either an academic dissertation, live business project or start-up project.
This degree is recognised by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), providing you with access to CMI resources during your studies, and enabling you to gain CMI membership upon degree completion.
Upon completion of this programme you will be able to pursue management roles in international luxury brand management, marketing, communications and retailing.
