The course deals with both animated graphics skills and simultaneously engages with the critical issues involved in such production; this course provides an opportunity for undergraduate designers, artists, film makers and anyone practising in related media to relocate their current graphic or art practice within the discipline of digital screen-based moving text and image; the course developed out of a collaboration with the regional ITV company Anglia TV, who saw the need for a new breed of innovative and disciplined designer; however, this course doesn’t just address the world of broadcast, the course intends to enable students to interact successfully within a deregulated world of internet banner animations, DV guerrilla style visual effects, high definition and wide screen programming, hand held devices and re-purposing of graphic elements for a global audience; the course is structured as a combination of taught and self-negotiated credit units, culminating in the Master’s project.
