Year 1 begins with an introduction to business and information technology through students developing their own business idea; specific units include information systems modeling and applied technology, and understanding business organisations; students also choose to take a language, work-based learning or entrepreneurship option.Year 2 builds on this foundation and further develops students’ information technology, database design and project management skills; students also work on enhancing their employability, personal and research skills within a professional skills unit; students may also choose to take a language, work-based learning or entrepreneurship option. Year 3 is spent in a paid placement within a business information technology or systems environment. The final year focuses on the strategic management of information systems in organisations and business, and students have the opportunity to develop a digital business idea and create your own website; in addition students choose 2 options from a wide range of business school units, including finance, human resources management, marketing and international business Final year project is also undertaken from a research or consultancy perspective.
