This course is tailored for professionals working in the built environment in an international context; it provides students with a practical and theoretical grounding in the subject; develops skills in a range of different methodologies for evaluating environmental conditions and predicting the effects of design solutions (data collection; interpretation methods; and computer-based simulations of buildings); students undertake practical studies in the field, setting up live monitoring projects working with real buildings and real data; this work is set within a framework of low energy design principles and against a background of sometimes conflicting theories of sustainability.
