Taught at the London City Campus. The course is designed for students with an interest in addictive behaviours; it provides broad, up-to-date advanced scientific and academic knowledge of addiction and addictive behaviours; the course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge relating to the main factors influencing addiction (biological; social; cultural; psychological; and economic perspectives); students develop skills relating to the research and assessment within addiction; they aim to make a contribution to training needs of all those who have a role to play in providing services.Modules:the course is split into 7 core modules, including a final project that spans the Autumn, Spring and Summer period, teaching takes place in the afternoons and evenings. Core modules: Introduction to Addiction; Research Methods and Statistics in Addiction; Consequences of Addiction; Non-drug Addictions and Addiction in Special Populations; Biological Bases of Addiction; Treatment Options in Addiction; Research Project.
