This course provides a blend of scientific and applied social science approaches to the study and application of environmental management in terrestrial settings; this enables students to become familiar with the wide spectrum of approaches often adopted in the management of both urban and rural environments and environmental resources; this is particularly relevant to the professional sector, which may need to consider: issues of ecology/nature conservation; coastal zone management; or urban regeneration within a sustainable environmental management context; options are available to study either a postgraduate certificate or diploma in this area.
