Global politics encompasses a number of the most important issues in the modern world; issues include: Globalisation; trade; international justice; and environmentalism; the course develops an ability to understand and interpret these issues; the programme provides an analysis of these topics based primarily on a political and historical point of view; it draws in perspectives from other relevant disciplines, including: philosophy; sociology; and business; the objective encourages students to engage critically with both the theoretical and practical dimensions of contemporary global politics.
