This course offers a theoretical and critical approach to the study of contemporary art history, curation and practice within a professional context; taking the beginning of the 20th century as a starting point, the programme addresses key developments and theoretical approaches up to the present day; the programme appeals to graduates who have studied fine art (as a practical discipline) as well as a wide range of other academic subjects including: English; history; drama; dance; music; film; education studies and psychology; there are opportunities to participate in overseas study tours; London visits and regional exhibition visits take place regularly depending on the exhibition programme for the year; the arts play a significant and growing role in wealth creation and the regeneration of urban and rural environments.
