This course allows the student to explore many subjects, including why education seems to encourage so much debate, how young people develop, how they are affected by social trends and how people cope with diversity and challenges; the student studies the historical, sociological and psychological aspects of education and takes a holistic look at the lives of young people, children and families and the ways in which they can be supported through: learning; development; health; nutrition; fitness; care; due to government policies and political agendas introduced over the last few years, there are numerous challenges for those working in education, health, social care, policing and other support agencies; there are many opportunities for employment across all of these fields, and this degree gives the student all the practical experience and theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make a difference to the lives and futures of young people and their families.
