The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (CM) program focuses on teaching the technical and business skills required to prepare men and women for middle- and upper-level management in the construction industry. The CM major reflects the current needs and trends in the construction industry. It has been developed in cooperation with experts from the construction industry, guidelines established by major construction associations, and feedback from employers and graduates. The CM program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education.
Learn
Coursework is structured to teach students problem-solving skills needed through hands-on learning. Emphases are placed on construction cost estimating, scheduling, contracts, construction law, project management, surveying, sustainability, material testing and safety management. All students are required to complete a co-op work placement course. The construction management major also includes coursework in general education with specified science and mathematics courses, business courses, electives and technical courses.
