The International First Year (IFY) provides an intensive combination of first-year university subjects with foundation study and language skills.


Successfully completing this programme will allow you to be fast-tracked to the second year of your DMU degree.

There are two pathways available:

  • Business and Management
  • Engineering

Progressing to your degree

You will start the first year of your chosen degree with DMU through LIPC. Once you have successfully completed the IFY programme, you will progress directly into the second year of that degree. You will have a personal tutor who will make sure that you are on track to achieve your study goals.


English language lessons

In addition to the core modules, there is also a continuous English language module to help undergraduate students improve their language skills.
