Why study for a research degree at Cranfield?

It is a three-year studentship to measure and model the impact of high transient currents on lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries in application such as buses and light commercial vehicles. These models will be used to design algorithms to estimate the state of charge and state of health in a real-time battery management system for a prototype commercial Li-S battery. Applicants with a master degree in a relevant engineering discipline are preferred. Prior experience of algorithm development, use of MATLAB and Simulink software and practical laboratory work with electrical systems are advantageous.
