This course aims to improve students' organisational performance and personal effectiveness in bringing communities together and fostering cohesion; developed specifically for part-time participants for whom community cohesion is a significant role or responsibility this course addresses real life issues and involve action plans to guide the individual and the organisation; the course is supported by the Institute of Community Cohesion (iCoCo); students gain a deeper understanding of the issues relevant to their community cohesion role to be able to make a significant strategic contribution to community cohesion projects; the course focuses on learning through experience and centre on key issues relating to the theory and practice of community cohesion; in addition to completing a significant work-based assignment in this area, students review and develop their professional capabilities and take a strategic view of national and international factors and their impact on cohesion locally; the course is delivered via a mixture of short residentials, day workshops, action learning sets and online discussion.
