Cardiff School of Computer Science and Informatics is a research led school with over 60 teaching and research staff. 70% of the submitted research to 2008 RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) was considered to be in the two highest categories identifying it as either world-leading or internationally excellent. The School has several state of the art research laboratories, and is a partner in an interdisciplinary Communications Research Centre, The Wales Institute of Mathematical and Computational Sciences and The Research Institute of Visual Computing.
The course is designed for computing graduates who wish to differentiate themselves further through an advanced mastery of the computer science discipline. This flagship programme offers exposure to state-of-the-art topics that are driving key technological developments and trends.
Graduates from this course will be ideally placed to pursue a number of careers, such as systems architects, programmers and software developers, and could also pursue a research career via doctoral studies.

Cardiff is approximately 230km (145 miles) west of London and is easily accessed by train in about 2 hours. Cardiff has excellent transport links (ranked 1st in the UK for the most transport friendly city) with an international airport that has flights to many cities in Europe.
