Animal science seeks to provide a stimulating and challenging experience for students and is intended for those aspiring to work in animal care, welfare or animal based industry; special consideration is given to scientific understanding of animal welfare; the course provides a vehicle for the development of a set of transferable skills appropriate to a wide range of animal care, welfare and management settings, and for further advanced study; the legal studies programme is specifically designed to reflect the changing nature of the increasingly globalised world, and to this end, the course is structured around the students’ engagement with law, not only at a domestic but at an international level; the course is designed to produce legal minds which can engage in processes of legal reasoning through a competent use of case law, statutory provisions and doctrinal discussion.
