Students develop a sound knowledge of the science that underpins the study of nutrition and factors that impinge on human health; they are introduced to a broad range of public health strategies designed to promote behaviour change; students then apply that knowledge to aspects of human nutrition investigating the role of diet and physical activity in health and disease; students gain an understanding of the ethical and professional framework they work within as a graduate of a human nutrition degree; in the final year students critically explore the complex nature of issues related to dietary intake paying particular attention to why individuals choose to consume particular diets and how these choices impact on health; the primary research investigation is an important part of year 3 studies and this enables students to integrate the practical and theoretical aspects of diet, nutrition and ethics.

University has two main campuses, Newton Park (where all the subjects, apart from Art and Design are taught) and Sion Hill (Bath School of Art and Design).
