Supported by Pinewood Studios Group, this hands-on course in film, television and digital production will give you the skills that successful film and television professionals need.
You’ll learn how to design and create film and television content and formats. The University will immerse you in film and TV practice and theory, teaching you how to apply a variety of crafts and digital technologies.
In the first two years, you’ll gain grounding in the core elements relating to film and television production. In your final year, you’ll have the opportunity to specialise, developing an individualised programme of work tailored to your interests. You’ll develop practical and creative projects highlighting your technical and craft skills. Alongside this you’ll demonstrate critical and theoretical understanding. Throughout the course, you’ll have opportunities to work on group and individual projects, developing your skills and creative ideas.
You’ll have opportunities to film in a variety of locations in the region as part of your single camera work. Students of the course also visit commercial TV studios. Previous students have filmed in a variety of historic and cultural areas such as Bath and Bristol city centres, and in beautiful rural countryside in the West of England.
There are opportunities throughout the programme to embark on work placements, subject to your interests and availability.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn different technical roles such as camera work, lighting and sound as well as a range of digital skills.
University has two main campuses, Newton Park (where all the subjects, apart from Art and Design are taught) and Sion Hill (Bath School of Art and Design). Campus located just outside the city of Bath. Students normally use frequent buses, which take them directly to the city centre. The city of Bath is comfortably located only 9 miles from one of the biggest cities in the UK - Bristol and only 90 minutes from the capital London.
