‘Made in Britain” is a sought after label throughout the world. A career in the UK textile industry could see you working with businesses that range from fashion to interiors.
On this course, you’ll learn the practical, professional and entrepreneurial skills to work as part of a team, or even set up your own business.
You’ll study textiles in its widest sense and learn many skills, from print, stitch embellishment to dyeing and mixed media construction. You’ll have the opportunity to focus on a variety of specialist areas, including textiles for fashion, textiles for interiors and textiles for design/crafts.
Traditional skills are taught together with expertise in modern design development, production, and contemporary invention. Whether you go on to work for a retail brand, or an international design house, we will prepare you for the challenges that the creative textile industry holds.
AUB is located on the south coast of England, two miles from the centre of Bournemouth. It has good train links to London and other big cities.
Bournemouth is the furthest easterly point of the Jurassic Coast, England’s first Natural World Heritage site, which spans 95 miles of unspoilt countryside of exceptional natural beauty and historic geology. Subsidised bus routes operate to and from the campus. Good cycle paths are in place.
