Designed to meet the development needs of people already practising within a mental health setting; it incorporates the intermediate awards of postgraduate diploma (on completion of 120 credits); the Master of Science is awarded after completion of 180 credits; course content maintains a good balance between theory and practice; it draws heavily upon students' own experiences, and students are expected to explore and analyse their own practice as they learn to apply growing theoretical understanding; students advance their knowledge and skills in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) giving them the competence to practise as an autonomous Cognitive Behavioural Therapist; the Master's prepares students to become a clinical advocate in CBT, fully able to provide support, guidance and case supervision for other learners and services.

Main campuses are located in Cambridge and Chelmsford, both within an hour from Central London by train. Cambridge is only an hour from London, by train, and can be reached via the M11. Chelmsford offers quick access to London, only 30 minutes by train, and good road connections to the whole of the UK.
