Yulia Ryzhkova about getting a grant to study in Cardiff University

Julia graduated from Siberian Federal University in the field of "Design of architectural environment", and further education decided to continue at the University of Cardiff, received a grant for education from the Global Education:

Cardiff University I chose because I liked the program: the training lasts one year and consists of 6 modules and a research project on design, and also includes two evaluation practices, one in UK, another overseas. I was attracted by the relatively low cost of the program, through which I was able to pay the tuition, housing, visa and accommodation in Cardiff. Another argument in favor of the University was a good location in the South West of the UK where the mild climate and the sea.

Program "Global education" paid for my education and paid all the costs. So, I got the education that will be in demand in Russia.

In high school I liked intense and interesting educational program, active Student Union and the fact that the activities of the University can attend regular residents of the city. For eight months in Cardiff I learned a lot, made friends and visited amazing places. I used to love going to free concerts of the Music Department. The University holds many free events for students, I think this is a great initiative. One of the most striking memories for me was the organization of a series of open events for residents, during which I had the opportunity to attend the lecture "Wild Cities" and socialize with the residents of Cardiff. This was a unique event, because the study that we have presented has not been published. However, the basic ideas have already been formulated and become relevant theory.

I'm from Siberia, one of the coldest regions of the world, so I really enjoyed the mild local climate. Cardiff is a beautiful and green city with a great atmosphere thanks to the relaxed rhythm of life I was able to focus on their studies and enjoy the local attractions. I was impressed by the number of parks and gardens, the plants bloom almost all year round. It is so beautiful, I was in awe of so many flowers and trees.

My advice for anyone thinking about master program Urban Design Cardiff University — be sure to do, is a balanced, intensive course with professional and experienced teachers. To open a new city with such a great team — a pleasure. If you plan to participate in the program "Global education", be ready to think about employment from the very beginning. The best option is to meet with representatives of the company where you want to work, so they did everything to include you in the list. Overall, participation in the program Global Education is worth the effort.

According to the program Global education, after graduation I will return to Russia and spent three years in the specialty. After that, I plan to continue working in the field of architectural design and to attend graduate school.
