Sponsorship of training for Ukrainian students the Victor Pinchuk Foundation

The Foundation World Wide Studies is a project of Victor Pinchuk, Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist, for the preparation of a new generation of Ukrainian professional elite, which will contribute to the program of reforms of the national economy and industry.

The Fund is helping Ukrainian youth to get master's degree in the best universities in the world in the following areas:

1. Alternative energy sources

2. Aerospace technology

3. Public administration

4. Public law

5. Agriculture

5. Ecology and environmental protection

Countries in which the Foundation has funded education:

Australia, Austria, UK, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Israel, Canada, China, USA, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan.

Project participants are selected on the basis of an annual nationwide competition, the results of which are announced in June, and the winners received from the Foundation grants for education, begin their studies in the autumn of the same year.

Who can participate in the competition for funding?

Applicants for the grant are the citizens of Ukraine, age till 35 years of age with a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialty, in which they plan to obtain a master's degree. Applicants should demonstrate a selection Committee of the Foundation World Wide Studies is a clear vision of how they plan to apply abroad education in Ukraine upon graduation.

What is the size of the grant?

The amount of the grant allocated by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, is determined individually depending on the abilities of the applicant and of the parameters of the chosen master's program. Generally, the grant covers 60% of tuition, accommodation, expenses for teaching materials and insurance (but not more than $ 50,000 for the entire period of education lasts 1-2 years). The remaining funds a student seeks their own. In the case that the selected applicant University included in the list of universities with which the Foundation World Wide Studies has affiliate program, possible 100% financing of training.

The procedure for obtaining a grant

In order to receive the grant the following:

1. The choice of University and graduate programs;

2. Entrance tests for foreign language and special subjects (carried out on the territory of Ukraine in a number of centres of the Fund);

3.Applying for admission to the chosen University;

4. In case of successful admission to College, applying to the Foundation World Wide Studies on participation in competition on grant-making for education.

5.Interview with members of the selection jury is an important stage on which the applicant for the grant must explain how he would later apply the acquired knowledge;

6. The signing of the contract with the Fund;

7. Studying abroad and getting a master's degree;

8. Return to Ukraine and work in the national companies and enterprises.

Under the agreement, students who received grants and completed a master's abroad, are obliged to return to the country to work in Ukrainian companies and enterprises of at least 5 years.

Since 2010, more than 80 Ukrainians have won grants of Victor Pinchuk Foundation – the majority of them holding degrees from prestigious foreign universities and returned to the country.
