Scholarship foundations

In nonprofits (Charities and Trust Funds) account for a significant part of the funding of postgraduate scholarship programs. Often the scholarship funds assume partial costs and should be considered as an additional source of funding.

Nonprofit foundations are created to provide material support or promotion of individuals who belong to certain target groups. It can be families with low incomes, women-scientists, residents of certain countries or regions, etc. In many cases the funds are financed by multiple partners. They are established:

• government;
• scientific and research organizations;
• commercial enterprises;
• individuals;

Funds are also allocated to students for research programs in subject areas falling within the scope of interests of the Fund (for example, personalized memorial scholarship).
