"Global education" - state funding of training Russian students abroad on programs of graduate, postgraduate and internship with subsequent employment in Russia. The program is implemented from 2014 to 2016, it involved 288 universities from 32 countries of the world according to the three global rankings: QS, ARWU, THE. As of August 2016 grant received 336 winners.
The first and second selection 2016 showed that the most popular universities among the candidates are:
1. King’s College London (UK) - 7 candidates
Royal
College London – one of the most prestigious universities in the UK, part of
Russell Group (the elite Association of universities in the UK). The University is famous for research
activities, its graduates have contributed to the latest discoveries. King’s College is
in the heart of London, most of the buildings located on the scenic banks
of the river Thames.
2. University of York (UK) – 3 candidates
York University - one of the 10 best research universities in the UK, many faculties which are in the top 10 in the UK. The University is a member of the Russell Group of elite enterprises leading high-tech universities in the country. York University is one of the few universities in the UK, consisting of colleges, allowing students to participate in many social and sporting activities at the College level.
3. Southampton University (UK) – 3 candidates
University of Southampton, located on the South coast of England, consistently ranked in the top 20 universities in the country and is also part of the Russell Group. It is the only British University, each engineering Department which received the highest rating of quality of research. The University is the leading University in the field of technical design. 4. Bristol University (UK) – 3 candidates
University of Bristol – one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in England. This is the largest high-tech multidisciplinary University located in the South-West of England in a 90-minute drive West from London. The University enrolls more than 20,000 students. Being one of the most popular universities in the UK, the University of Bristol is part of the Russell Group and is a member of the Worldwide Universities Network - a Network of the largest universities in the world. 5. The University of Sheffield (UK) – 9 candidates
The University of Sheffield was four times awarded the annual Royal awards in 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2007, the University has a high rating in teaching in such areas as architecture, urban and regional planning, geography, engineering, music, English and Russian languages, political science, computer science and history. Taught using the latest research and development.
6. University of Manchester (UK) - 6 candidates
Manchester the University is one of the largest universities in the UK, known for its research projects. University of Manchester was founded in 2004 year as a result of the merger Victoria University of Manchester and UMIST. University College London is in the top 10 best universities in the UK. This is one of the oldest universities in the country and a significant research centre. A graduates of the University have contributed to the history of the world: among them inventors, politicians, businessmen, journalists.
8. Monash University (Australia) – 10 candidates
Monash University — Australian national University, the main body of which is located in Melbourne. The University is part of the prestigious "Group of eight" Australian universities and is one of the best universities in Australia and the world. The University plays an important role in the scientific world of the XXI century, by publishing annually the results of more than 5,000 scientific studies on the most pressing issues of our time. The University administration actively funded faculty and student base and has the most modern equipment at their disposal.
9. Utrecht University (Netherlands) - 5 candidates
Utrecht the University is a large University located in the Netherlands. The University provides the opportunity for students to learn English. Specializes in of the University – Humanities, and law in particular.
10. Politecnico di Milano University (Italy) – 5 candidates
The Milan Polytechnic Institute, the largest technical University in Italy, which has about 35.000 students. The most popular fields of study - engineering, architecture, design and industrial design. In 2009, Italian researchers have recognized the best University in Italy by indicators such as scientific production and attractiveness to foreign students. 12. University of New South Wales (Australia) – 3 candidates
The University of New South Wales is a national University of Australia, which is included in the Group of Eight leading research universities in Australia. In 2016, the University has about 52,000 students, of which 14,000 foreigners from 130 countries. The main campus of the University is 7 kilometres from the centre of Sydney. According to the QS for 2015 the University of New South Wales occupies 46 place in the world and among the leading employers of Australian University graduates are most popular and have the highest chances of employment!
